Kigali-Rwanda, 10 July 2019- As part of a current five-year strategy aimed at strengthening its qualifications and add value, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda is pleased to announce the signing of a membership pathway agreement with the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (CIMA).

Consequently, ICPAR has joined the global force of professional accountants with the mandate to power trust, prosperity, and opportunity for individuals, businesses, and economies across the world.

With the signing of the agreement, both ICPAR and CIMA have committed to develop and sustain a relationship of mutual recognition of each other’s members according to the terms and conditions stipulated in the agreement. It is expected that the agreement will facilitate a harmonious and mutually beneficial relationship between the two bodies, and enhance the accountancy competency of members willing and seeking to extend their scope of practice.

While acknowledging the signing of the agreement, Both the ICPAR President Dr. Patrick Uwizeye and the ICPAR CEO Mr. Amin Miramago have heralded the move as a fundamental step in enhancing the professionalism of public accountants in Rwanda, as well as increasing their opportunities to collaborate with competent public accountants from across the world.
